Progression...Boar's Tusk

Today, I blocked in Boar's Tusk and worked on the background and clouds a little more.

I'm still trying to decide what to do with the foreground; any suggestions?

oooh... looks like this will be a very dramatic painting. The hard jagged Boar's Tusk against the cloudy, stormy ominous sky. The foreground? hmm...

I'm not familiar with the landscape... scrub brush... ya know bushes like tumble weeds? (shrug)

It's mostly sagebrush out there, lots of rocks and dirt. Since my sky and highlight on the rocks are purple, I have been toying with the thought of purple sage. :o)

    Hi Jo
Thanks for checking in on my blog and your comment. I did see this. Was it yesterday or today? Anyway am watching what you are doing. Looking great. Like the contrast of light and shadow. Beginners have a tendancy to be picky when laying down paint and have trouble getting bold.
    Go to it girl.
Boars Tusk is a good subject. Many years ago I worked out in that area for only a day there but spent a lot of time in the Red Desert. Would love to spend more time. Absolutely loved it.

WOW, that light falling on the formation is magnificent. Such drama!
